Range Rover Price Cuts – India-UK FTA Deal!

India signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the UK in July of last year. But this agreement has yet to be implemented by any automaker. Range Rovers are the first beneficiaries of the FTA deal as its SV range gets a whopping 25% price cut.

The SV range includes the Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV, which are CBU units imported from the UK. Many other Range Rover SUVs also received price cuts due to GST reforms, but this is the most significant price cut yet. Under the FTA, the government is set to reduce the 110% duty to 30% on vehicles imported from the UK. JLR will officially announce these price cuts in the coming weeks.

  • Range Rover SV Diesel – Rs 3.83 crore

And after these price cuts, these SUVs will be priced around –

Range Rover Price Cuts – What About The Defender?

Except for the Defender and the SV models, all Range Rover units are CKD and assembled locally. So, no price cuts are expected any time soon if you are in the market for an Evoque, Velar, etc. But this is no reason for the Defender’s fanbase to be disappointed yet, as the Defender will soon be getting price cuts as well.

The Defender is imported from Range Rover’s manufacturing plant in Slovakia, making it ineligible for the India-UK FTA. However, it will reap the benefits of the India-EU FTA deal. The import duty cuts for the India-EU deal are much more aggressive. The duties for EU imports will be around 10% in the coming years, which means that the Defender will experience an even bigger price slash than the SV models.
