TVS X Custom Editions Break Cover

Three custom editions of the X electric scooter have been developed jointly by TVS and designer Manoviraj Khosla

TV Motor Company has unveiled three one-of-one custom editions of the X electric scooter in the Indian market. Created in collaboration with designer Manoviraj Khosla, these are first models in a series of such curated experiences. Launched in Aug 2023, TVS X is the brand’s flagship electric scooter in India. It is also one of the most expensive e-scooters in the Indian market a price tag of Rs 2.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). These custom built units of TVS X will be auctioned and the amount from the collectors’ auction will be directed towards Mala Dhawan’s A Hundred Hands.

TVS X custom editions are inspired by Karnataka’s rich artistic heritage, including the architecture of Hampi, Channapatna’s traditional craft and the grandeur of Mysuru’s royalty. Apart from the custom built electric scooters, TVS and Manoviraj Khosla have also joined hands to bespoke merchandise for collectors. Mala Dhawan, Founder of A Hundred Hands, a non-profit organisation working with artisan communities across Karnataka, was also present at the event.

Speaking at the event, Gaurav Gupta, President – India Two Wheeler Business, TVS Motor Company, said: “Progress without culture is incomplete. With TVS X, we’re bringing Indian art and architectural heritage into a contemporary form, and the first chapter in Karnataka, marks the start of a larger journey across India. We’re using TVS X as a canvas to reinterpret India’s art & cultural heritage, where ownership becomes participation in sustaining it and draws inspiration from it.”

Sitting on the all-new TVS Xleton platform, TVS X comes with a LED headlamp, lean-activated bend lamps and aluminium exposed frame. It boasts of a tiltable 10.2-inch TFT screen with Android Auto, which is powered by TVS SmartXonnect. The advanced connectivity features include smart navigation, hands-free calling, and entertainment via Google Assistant.

TVS X also comes with three ride modes in the form of Xtealth, Xtride and Xonic. Some of the safety features onboard the electric scooter are theft alert, crash/fall notification, auto lock and SOS. It is available with a 950 W portable charger which ensures charging anywhere and anytime on the go. It takes 3 hours and 30 mins for a 0-80 percent charge.

Equipped with a 4.4 kWh battery pack, TVS X returns an IDC range of 159 km on a full charge. The electric motor develops top power of 15.7 bhp while doing a 0-40 kmph sprint in 2.5 secs. The X electric scooter clocks a top speed of 110 kmph. The riders can also select the regen mode as per their choice while Smart Hill hold technology also comes as standard.
