Now here is where the Sierra EV story gets interesting. Tata is widely expected to carry over the Harrier’s battery options into the Sierra EV, which will sit on the same Gen 2 EV platform. The Harrier EV currently comes with two battery options: a standard 65 kWh pack offering a claimed range of around 538 kilometres and a larger 75 kWh long-range pack stretching that figure close to 627 kilometres on a single charge. Both variants support fast charging with a 120 kW DC fast charger; it can go from 20% to 80% in about 25 minutes. Home AC charging takes around 10.7 hours.

The Sierra EV could be officially revealed later in 2026, with deliveries beginning in early 2027. Pricing is expected to be around Rs 20-30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), positioning it above the Nexon EV and Curvv EV as Tata’s flagship electric SUV.

It will directly compete with the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki E Vitara, Vinfast VF 6, and BYD Atto 3.
