New Royal Enfield Rival Launch Date Confirmed!

If you haven’t guessed it yet, it’s none other than Triumph. This British bikemaker, with its 400cc lineup tried to dethrone the mighty Royal Enfields. However, Triumph bikes have been more expensive and have competed with the likes of the Himalayan 450 and the Guerilla 450. However, Triumph will be launching a series of 350cc bikes on April 6-7 which will be more on par with most Royal Enfield bikes in terms of performance as well as pricing.
As part of its collaboration with Bajaj, most of its bikes will be downsized from 400cc to 350cc to make the most out of GST 2.0 reforms. We expect Triumph to first bring in the Speed, the Scrambler and the T4 into the 350 form, followed by an all-new Bonneville 350, which will directly rival the best-selling Royal Enfield, the Classic 350. You must be wondering, with the downsizing, what else will change in these Triumph motorcycles?

Triumph 350 Bikes – What To Expect?

The great news is that Triumph will unlikely take up cost cutting as part of the downsizing. We believe that Triumph will keep the design and build quality as it is, sticking to its forte. What will change though is the performance. With the revised 350cc engine, the Triumph motorcycles may now produce 35-36bhp and 35Nm of torque – a deficit of 3-4bhp and 2-3Nm of torque. Nevertheless, these bikes will still be producing more power and torque than its potential rivals. Features may remain unchanged as part of the revision.
The T4 (or T3.5) would remain the most affordable Triumph. We expect the Triumph motorcycle range to start from Rs 2.20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Rumours suggest that Triumph will continue to sell the Scrambler 400XC and the Thruxton 400 in its original form, allowing buyers a choice to get the bigger bikes. However, Bajaj may no longer absorb the GST 2.0 price hikes, making the Scrambler 400XC and the Thruxton 400 more expensive.
