Upcoming Mahindra SUV – Thar Facelift

Following the launch of the 5-door Thar ROXX, Mahindra is bringing those premium updates to the 3-door Thar silhouette. The vehicle had been spotted frequently in recent months, including during a large yard convoy of test vehicles. Visual changes from the test mule include a double-stacked front grille (likely finished in body colour) and circular LED projector headlamps featuring integrated C-shaped LED DRLs. The side profile is to be updated with new 18-inch or 19-inch 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the rear features revised LED taillights with a fresh C-shaped internal signature. It would retain the current engine lineup: the 1.5-litre diesel (RWD), the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel, and the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol. Both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions would also be available.
The update would be evident in the cabin. We expect it to get the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster from the ROXX. New steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM, and potentially a 360-degree camera. The 3-door Thar Facelift is expected around mid-2026. It would be priced at around 25-30 thousand rupees more than the existing price of Rs 13L (on-road, Mumbai).

Scorpio-N Pik Up

What started as a bold concept revealed in South Africa is now a reality, with Mahindra’s upcoming lifestyle pickup undergoing testing across India. Having been spotted everywhere from city highways to the high-altitude terrain of Manali, the truck is built on a reinforced version of the Scorpio-N’s ladder-frame chassis.
It could feature the Gen-2 mHawk diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and a dedicated 4WD system, including specific modes for mud, sand, and gravel. While rugged on the outside, the double-cab interior is positioned as a premium space, which could be equipped with Level 2 ADAS, 5G connectivity, and a high-end audio system, as we saw on the Scorpio N. With a trademark for the “Scorpio X” name already filed, the vehicle is expected around mid-2026. The Scorpio N pickup truck could be around 50,000 less than the Scorpio-N, which comes at a price of Rs 16 to 20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Upcoming Mahindra SUV – Scorpio-N Facelift

Despite its strong sales, the Mahindra Scorpio-N is prepping for a mid-life update to stay ahead of the competition. No mechanical changes expected; would continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, with various states of tune, with 4WD reserved for the diesel.
The highlight would be Interior updates, which could include a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen, ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof, matching the XUV700. The Scorpio-N facelift is speculated to launch in mid-2026. The existing Scorpio-N is priced at Rs 16 to 20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and the facelift would be around Rs 20 to 30 thousand more.

Scorpio Classic Pik Up

While the “Scorpio X” targets the premium segment, Mahindra is also testing a refreshed version of the rugged Scorpio Classic-based pickup. A double-cab version of the Scorpio Classic pickup was seen in the same yard convoy as the Scorpio-N facelift and Thar. It is expected to feature the familiar 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine with 130 BHP and 300 Nm, coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox, making it a more utilitarian choice compared to the Scorpio-N-based pickup. The updates are likely to be limited to minor cosmetic changes to the front in line with the Scorpio Classic, along with some basic interior updates. The model is expected to launch in India around the second half of 2026. The expected price would be 50 thousand less than the Scorpio Classic, which comes around 15.97 lakh on road Mumbai.
