Maruti Suzuki is the king of automakers in India. It sells more units than the runner-up and the 3rd-place finisher every month. This means that many people are always awaiting its upcoming models to splurge some cash on. And if you are one of those people, you should know about these upcoming Maruti cars.

Brezza Facelift

Test mules for the Brezza have been spotted multiple times recently, suggesting a launch could be imminent. From the spy shots, we can see that the facelift is set to get a larger infotainment screen and some aesthetic touch-ups to keep it fresh. However, the overall design language and the equipment list are expected to remain unchanged.
At the moment, the Brezza is available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine as standard. And this means it cannot avail the tax benefit for sub-4m cars. The law states that cars shorter than 4m and with an engine capacity of less than 1200cc are subject to a lower tax rate of 18%, compared to the 40% for larger cars. With the facelift, Maruti could introduce a smaller 1.2-litre NA petrol engine or a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine with the Brezza.
If introduced with a smaller engine, we could see a price cut of around Rs 45,000 to Rs 60,000. The outgoing model is priced between Rs 9.68 lakh and Rs 15.42 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and this price cut will definitely boost its sales.

Upcoming Maruti Cars – YMC
Maruti recently unveiled its first EV, the E Vitara. And they are set to bring another EV soon, codenamed the “YMC”. Rumour has it that it will be an electric MPV that sits above the Ertiga and XL6 and will compete against the Kia Carens Clavis EV and the upcoming Vinfast Limo Green.
It is expected to adopt the platform from the E-Vitara and will be offered with the same 49kWh and 61 kW battery pack options. We expect it to also share many features with the newly launched SUV.
If launched, we could see it being priced around Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While its launch timeline has yet to be revealed, we expect it to launch by mid-2027. Initial rumours suggested that it could be launched by September of this year, but we haven’t seen developments since then. Furthermore, its Toyota derivative is also expected to be launched soon after.

Fronx Flex Fuel

With the stricter new ethanol-blend emissions standards, Maruti will be looking to achieve full compliance with ethanol-blended fuels. The flex-fuel variant would be one of the few cars in India to be E85 compliant (85% ethanol). No changes would be made to engine capacity, and the changes would apply to the ECU, which would in turn adjust fuel injection, timing, etc.
Maruti unveiled the Fronx Flex fuel at an auto expo last year. If not for the bright green graphics, it would be difficult to differentiate it from the outgoing model. Furthermore, it is important to note that the flex fuel variant will be available with the 1.2-litre engine. This engine is also used in the WagonR, Baleno, Glanza, Urban Cruiser Taisor, and Eeco, which means we could see many more flex-fuel models in the near future.
We expect it to launch by the end of 2026, with a plethora of flex-fuel models to follow shortly. The pricing may not see much of a hike since the underpinnings and feature list will remain the same. The outgoing model is priced between Rs 8.01 lakh and Rs 14.09 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and the maximum expected price surge would be around Rs 15,000-Rs 25,000.

Upcoming Maruti Cars – Fronx Hybrid

Along with flex-fuel powertrains, Maruti is also developing its in-house series-hybrid powertrain. Currently, its hybrid models use Toyota tech, and Maruti aims to gain some independence with this technology. This newly developed hybrid technology aims to make HEVs more affordable, and the Fronx will be the first beneficiary. Additionally, speculation also suggests that the Fronx hybrid would also get an ADAS suite.
With the hybrid, the changes could be limited to the powertrain. The aesthetics and equipment list will remain unchanged. This model will be aimed at people who want maximum fuel efficiency from their compact SUVs.
Maruti is yet to announce the launch timeline for the hybrid, but it seems unlikely that we will see it on Indian roads this year. We expect a launch by mid to late 2027. Maruti plans to market it as an affordable hybrid, so it will have to keep prices attractive. We expect the hybrid trim to be priced around Rs 13 lakh and Rs 15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), making it one of the most accessible hybrids in the market.
