World’s First Self-Balancing Electric Motorcycle Breaks Cover

The world’s first self-balancing motorcycle has been developed by a Singaporean company and it will be launched in Indonesia first in May 2026

Omoway, the Singapore-based electric two-wheeler brand, has launched the world’s first self-balancing motorcycle in the form of the Omo X. It is the first electric two-wheeler to use gyroscope technology from the space industry. Omoway Omo X will first go on sale in Indonesia from May 2026 while production has already begun. Built on robotics architecture, the Omo X pre-bookings and test rides will start by the end of Apr 2026. The company is offering a 7 years battery pack warranty as standard with the electric motorcycle.

Omoway Omo X flaunts Starship-inspired front fascia with a futuristic feeling and interstellar battleship-esque appearance. A special mention goes to the OMO saberlight with LED units which comes in a split headlamp setup. The rear profile boasts of a unique swingarm with wide rear wheels and a floating seat. It is claimed as the world’s first multi-form motorcycle.

Omoway Omo X can be transformed into three different body types due to the modular design. The basic configuration represents an electric scooter with a classic design. It can be converted into a naked street model through the middle box module expansion. The GT module turns it into a touring scooter with multiple luggage options in the form of middle box, tail box and side boxes.

The Omo X is also being called as a “Robot on Two Wheels’ due to the inclusion of a specially designed Omo Robot system. This system prevents the electric motorcycle from falling with the help of sensors and cameras. Hence, it does not require any external support and balances itself to become the world’s first self-balancing electric motorcycle.

As mentioned earlier, the gyroscope technology used in the spacecraft and satellites to keep them stable has been used in the Omo X. This technology keeps the electric bike stable even at very low speeds and complete halts. The rider is relieved of the responsibility of balancing the electric motorcycle. Generally, it is quite a task for amateur individuals to balance a heavy two-wheeler. Even at traffic signals at a complete standstill, the riders are not required to keep their feet down for balancing the Omo X.

Omoway Omo X is equipped with a special system to avert the skidding of wheels on slippery and wet surfaces while providing additional support during cornering. The electric bike gets an emergency braking system for instantly stopping the vehicle. Some of the other notable features in the Omo X are double wishbone suspension setup, 110 kmph top speed and 200+ WMTC range on a full charge.
