Next-Gen Hyundai Creta Spotted!

The Creta may not have received major updates since 2024, but it still remains desirable. Its sales may have taken a hit with the increased competition, but it still tops the list for the best-selling midsized SUV. But Hyundai don’t plan on getting complacent as the new Creta has been spotted testing in South Korea, indicating that its Indian launch could be soon as well.

This test mule sports heavy camouflage, making it difficult to figure out the aesthetic updates. The overall stance remains similar to the outgoing model, but it now seems to have a slightly more aggressive side profile due to the higher rear window sills. Moreover, the mule lacks a panoramic sunroof, suggesting that it is a base or mid-variant model. What’s more interesting is that the mule sits on bigger 18-inch alloys. On the outgoing model, 18-inch alloys are only available on the top variants.

One thing we know for sure is that it will have many similarities to the new Seltos. It is expected to adopt the new K3 platform from the Seltos. And with this new platform, the dimensions of the Creta are set to increase, along with improvements in safety and NVH levels. This platform has been tested on other Kia models abroad and has received a solid 5-star NCAP rating, suggesting that the next-gen Creta would perform similarly in NCAP tests.

Expected Features & Specifications

The outgoing Creta is loaded with features, so there would be very few additions to its current list. The few updates may include a bigger infotainment screen and more ADAS features.

The next-gen Creta is expected to be offered with the same engine options, including a 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. It is expected to get transmission options of a 6-speed manual, iVT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed AT.

Hyundai have also hinted at a potential launch of a hybrid powertrain in the near future. And if a hybrid trim is launched, it will also eat up some of the Grand Vitara, Hyryder and Victoris’s market. It will also continue to be offered as an EV well. As per speculation, the next-gen Creta could have one of the widest powertrain portfolios possible.

Next-Gen Creta Spotted – Expected Launch & Pricing

Hyundai have kept the development of the next-gen Creta under wraps. But with the increased competition in the segment, Hyundai might be forced to rush its launch. We expect the new Creta to hit dealerships by late 2026 or in the early months of 2027.

The outgoing model is priced between Rs. 12.84 lakh and Rs. 24.50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and the next-gen Creta is expected to receive a minor price hike of around Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 40,000. As long as Hyundai don’t overcook the recipe, the next-gen Creta is expected to continue selling in substantial numbers.
