JSW SUV Spotted!
You must have heard the news by now – JSW is going to make cars in India. Well, it already does in a partnership with MG, but it will now manufacture cars as a separate entity. This time around, it will partner up with Chinese manufacturer Chery Automobiles to sell its cars under the JSW name. The Jetour T2 and the Chery iCar V23 have been spotted multiple times already, and now its 3rd SUV has also been spotted – the Jaecoo J5
With these fresh spy shots, we get a thorough look at the Jaecoo J5. You might mistake it for a Range Rover on first glance, as it sports an identical boxy stance and slim headlights. But what’s more interesting are the aero-friendly alloys, indicating that it will be launched as an EV in India. Furthermore, a hybrid powertrain could be offered later in its life.

The Global Spec Jaecoo J5 gets features like –

- Panoramic glass roof
- Electric sunshade
- Heated and electrically folding ORVM
- Ventilated front seats
- 13.2-inch infotainment screen
- 8-inch digital instrument cluster
- Powered driver seat
- Powered tailgate
- 540-degree camera
We can expect to see a similar list of features in the India spec models. As for the battery pack options, the global-spec variant gets a single 58.9kWh option. The single electric motor produces 208 bhp & 288 Nm. Moreover, the claimed range can go up to 461km. You can charge it up completely in just 28 min using a 130kW fast charger.

Expected Launch & Pricing
This is the second time the Jaecoo J5 has been spotted, suggesting the launch is imminent. JSW has announced that it will launch its first car (expected to be the Jetour T2) by October or November of this year, and the J5 will be launched soon after.
