The midsize SUV segment is the most-competitive segment in the automotive market at the moment. The Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are all fighting tooth and nail to get to the top of the best-sellers list. But amongst this battle, some other SUVs get overlooked. Automakers are offering massive discounts of up to Rs 3 lakh to attract some customers their way. Here is what you should know about these discounts.

Skoda Kushaq

With the imminent launch of the Kushaq facelift, Skoda is looking to clear out some of the old stock. And to do this, it is offering discounts of up to Rs 3 lakh on MY2024 units (including a cash discount, an exchange bonus, and a corporate bonus). On MY2025 units, you get a discount of up to Rs 2 lakh, while on MY2026 units, you get a discount of up to Rs 1.4 lakh. Not accounting for discounts, the Kushaq costs between Rs 12.73 lakh and Rs 22.07 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). And with these discounts, it sounds like a great deal.
The outgoing model gets features like an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and cruise control. Unfortunately, the Kushaq misses out on ADAS, a 360-degree camera and a panoramic sunroof.
The powertrain options include a 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AT, and a 7-speed DSG.

Sierra Rival Discounts – Honda Elevate

The Honda Elevate is one of the most underrated SUVs in the segment, yet it doesn’t get the same love as its rivals. Honda hopes to change this by offering up to Rs 1.81 lakh in discounts. And for an SUV that costs between Rs 14.07 and Rs 20.03 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai), these discounts are rather impressive.
With its equipment list, you get a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, level-2 ADAS, an electric sunroof, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, an auto-dimming IRVM, and much more.
Powertrain options for the Elevate are pretty limited: it is offered with a 1.5-litre iVtec engine as standard, with the option of a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

Sierra Rival Discounts – Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

With the introduction of the Victoris, Grand Vitara sales have taken a slight knock. But to prevent its sales from falling further, Maruti is offering discounts of up to Rs 1.12 lakh on the base Sigma variant. The discounts range from Rs 90,000 to Rs 1 lakh and include benefits such as an extended warranty. Before discounts, the Grand Vitara costs between Rs 12.68 lakh and 23.09 lakh (on-road, Mumbai)
The feature list is pretty decent as it includes a 360-degree camera, a 9-inch infotainment screen, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, etc. If you want an ADAS suite, you would have to opt for its sibling, the Victoris.
As for the powertrain options, it is available with a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine, a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre petrol-CNG option.
