New MG SUV – MG Creta Rival

This upcoming SUV is expected to be based on the MG One model. Featuring the SIGMA platform, which is famous for featuring multiple powertrains. On the outside, the SUV looks like yet another facelift to the current Astor and ZS EV. The front facia of the MG Model features a big grille, and to the rear, the sloping roof treatment. Complimenting the rear slope are the aggressive rear lights. This SUV rides on the 19-inch wheel, further enhancing its looks.

Inside the cabin, this SUV features a 30-inch, wraparound triple-screen display with integrated AI and Machine Learning. To handle this task, the device is equipped with the Snapdragon 8155 chip. In addition, there is a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and ambient lighting. For drive assistance, this comes with the ADAS level 2 and a 360-degree camera.

Powertrain:

Under the hood, this SUV will feature a 1.5-litre petrol engine( 181bhp, 285Nm) with a CVT transmission. But interestingly, given the platform capabilities, this car can be introduced not only in EV spec but also in Hybrid spec. If launched in the EV version, it will be offered with the 50.3 kWh and 56.7 kWh battery packs, claiming a range of about 460km to 500km.

Launch & Pricing:

With the launch and price being under wrap we can only speculate. This SUV can be expected around late 2026 or early 2027. And to compete with the segment leader, Hyundai, prices are expected to be somewhere between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 18 lakh. This price tag can be slightly higher than the Astor’s.
