Well, it seems like the old days are gonna be where you used to spend hours charging your car. This brand has developed a technology that can charge your car faster than your smartphone. What is this technology? Let’s discuss-

BYD Megawatt Flash Charging Technology-

No, it’s not the Tesla. When it comes to battery innovation, BYD is one of the top brands introducing truly amazing developments. Following that, here we have the second generation of the Blade Battery technology. Not just this, BYD has been working on introducing a 1,500kW Flash Charging system. You might think we made a mistake while writing this number. No, we haven’t. While we thought fast chargers were limited to 360kW to 480kW, BYD has managed to amaze us. How has BYD managed to pull this off? (add charging time in para)

10% to 70% In 5 Minutes?- BYD Megawatt Flash Charging Technology

BYD has gone bonkers and has introduced the Megawatt charging system at 1,500kW. Most of the EVs on sale can’t even support these figures. Then how is BYD actually doing this? Well, we are not gonna get into the complicated chips and circuits; outside that, the major factor here is thermal management. BYD has managed to minimise the internal heat generation and radiate the heat outside while charging.
If a car is equipped with blade battery technology and plugged into the Megawatt charger, the charging time will be significantly reduced. Under the ideal conditions, the battery can be charged from 10% to 70% in just about 5 min, while the battery can be charged form 10% to 97% in under 10 mins. Definitely, if not faster, but equally fast to charging our phones.
What is the Blade Battery technology?

You don’t need to be an expert to understand this technology. BYD has skipped the traditional battery, which is more similar to the household batteries we use. They used a lithium-iron-phosphate battery, not in the traditional cylindrical form but in a rectangular, blade-like structure. When these cells are individual, they are no better than any traditional cell, but once stacked (packed) together, because of their shape, more can be accommodated in a single pack. Which increases the energy density of the battery pack. This can also help you gain more performance and range. But what about the charging speed? Isn’t that the hot topic?
Why Does It Matter To Us?
Currently, this will be implemented in China, but soon it will reach other countries as well. With the war underway, fuel prices are fluctuating, the government is adding more sugarcane juice to our fuel, and strict emission norms for ICE vehicles seem pretty hard to meet. And the major problem with the EV’s extensive charging time being sorted, not all, but many of us can consider EVs an option.
What do you think of this new technology?
