New Creta Rivals Teased For The First Time! » MotorOctane

Not just the Renault Duster, we have another Hybrid SUV lining up to take on the Hyundai Creta very soon. And today, this SUV has been teased for the very first time. Let’s discuss what we know from the Teaser:  

New SUV Teased: 

Following the announcement of the JSW–Chery partnership in January 2026, JSW Motors appears to be making another significant move toward strengthening its presence in the Indian market. And with the very first teaser, JSW Motors is not just teasing their upcoming SUV but also inviting dealers to team up with them and sell their cars! 

Yes, we will be witnessing an SUV from JSW Motors as their first product. How are we so sure about that? It’s because of the silhouette on the brand’s invitation. So, which is gonna be the first car coming out of JSW’s lineup? 

JSW Motors SUV Teased: 

The teaser features a boxy SUV-like silhouette with horizontal headlamps. This closely resembles the Chery Jetour T2. This indicates that the rebadge Jetour T2 will be the first car from the brand to be offered in the Indian market. What do we know about the Jetour T2?

Exteriors: 

From the looks of the global-spec Jetour T2, it’s a big-box SUV compared to segment bests like the Creta. The overall look of this SUV seems to be derived from the bigger premium SUVs like the Defender and G-Wagon. Front end featuring square-shaped LED headlamps and a distinct front grille with Jetour badging, which we expect to be replaced in India. The rear end features G-Wagon-like lower-mounted tailamps and a small external storage compartment. From the side, chunky claddings and roof rails give it a Defender touch.

Interiors: 

Inside the cabin, Jetour T2 is a retro-modern SUV that features a 15.6-inch infotainment screen with connected features and a 10.25-inch driver’s display. In addition to the offerings, there is a 360-degree parking camera, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and ventilated seats. 

JSW Motors – Powertrain: 

This SUV is expected to come equipped with a hybrid powertrain, which, if launched, will be the first plug-in hybrid in the affordable end of the segment. This powertrain is expected to feature a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 26.7 kWh battery package. Producing a combined power output of 296 bhp and 390 Nm torque. 

Expected Launch and Price: 

With the teaser, most of the things remain under wraps. But we can expect the SUV to be unveiled by the end of 2026. JSW is all set to start manufacturing this SUV at its Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant very soon. With localisation, price could be aggressive to take on rivals. From the speculation, this JSW Motors SUV could be priced between Rs 15 and Rs 30 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
