Skoda Kodiaq RS

The Skoda Kodiaq RS will be the sportier version of the outgoing 7-seater. It is expected to feature a 2.0-litre TSI (265 bhp & 400 Nm), mated to a 7-speed DSG, adopted from the Octavia RS.

The Kodiaq RS is the first Skoda model we will see imported after this trade agreement. During the Kushaq launch event, Skoda announced that the SUV will be launched in mid 2026. We could see the Kodiaq RS priced between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

These car launches may not be aimed towards the general public, but they feel exciting nevertheless. Skoda is trying to please the enthusiasts with these car launches, and is definitely appreciated by most car enthusiasts. Thanks to the FTA deal, performance cars like the Octavia RS and Kodiaq RS, as well as luxury cars like the Superb, will be more accessible than ever.

Upcoming Skoda Launches – Skoda Octavia RS

The first batch of Octavia RS imports was sold out in a matter of 20 minutes. Such an overwhelming response could only mean we’ll see the second batch very soon as well. Mechanically and aesthetically, the second batch of units will be identical to the first batch. It will be offered with a 2.0-litre TSI (261 bhp & 370 Nm) mated to a 7-speed DSG. So if you missed out on the first batch, the tariff cuts must sound like a dream.

To the dismay of the people who bought one in the first batch, the second batch units will be significantly cheaper. The pricing of the first batch Octavia RS costs a whopping Rs 63 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and with the FTA deal in place, we can see the second batch to be offered at a more attractive price of Rs 45-55 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We expect the second batch to be launched by late 2026, as Skoda has officially stated that the performance sedan will be launched this year.

Upcoming Skoda Launches – Skoda Superb

The Superb has a huge fanbase of its own, and Skoda realises it. At an auto expo last year, Skoda displayed the next-gen Superb and confirmed that it will be relaunched as a CBU unit.

The display unit was the diesel variant, which means that the Indian-spec Superb would get a 2.0-litre diesel (150 bhp & 360 Nm). The gearbox options will be limited, and a 7-speed DSG is expected to be offered as standard. What’s more interesting is that the display unit was an AWD one. While it seems unlikely that we get the AWD drivetrain in India, you can’t be certain. If the Superb receives a great response, Skoda could offer the second batch of imports with a 2.0-litre petrol powertrain.

The pricing for the Superb will benefit a lot from the FTA deal. With tariffs limited to 10%, we expect it to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). And for a car as premium as the Superb, it seems like a fair price. Skoda has yet to reveal the launch timeline, but we expect the Superb to be launched by early 2027.
