Hyundai Exter Facelift Spotted

The Exter was spotted recently testing on Indian roads. It was heavily camouflaged, but we can still get a basic idea of how the Exter facelift would look. The overall boxy stance remains identical to the outgoing model. Moreover, a similar headlight and taillight setup could be seen with this test mule. While the front grille and bumper were concealed, we expect it to get minor touchups. Furthermore, new alloy wheels and colour options are to be expected.

Expected Features

The current Exter has a decent feature list, including an electric sunroof, cruise control, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an 8-inch infotainment screen. However, with Tata adding more features to the Punch, Hyundai will look to refresh this list.
At a Hyundai investors’ meeting back in 2025, Hyundai confirmed a few details about its upcoming A+ segment SUV. Currently, there is only 1 such SUV in Hyundai’s lineup: the Exter. This SUV will feature a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen (running the latest Android Auto OS) and a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster. However, it is yet to be seen whether Hyundai will add these features to the Exter facelift or launch an entirely new A+ segment SUV.
The Exter facelift is also rumoured to feature ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats, a powered driver seat, and a 360-degree camera. and front- and rear-armrests. Moreover, you can expect a refreshed look for the cabin.

The powertrain options will be carried over with the facelift. It will be available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine (82 bhp & 114 Nm). Gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The Exter facelift will offer a CNG alternative, as on the outgoing model. This will feature Hyundai’s twin-cylinder layout to maximise boot space.

Expected Launch And Pricing
The outgoing Exter range starts from Rs 6.79 Lakh and can go up to Rs 11.27 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the top trim. If Hyundai add an extensive list of features with the facelift, we expect a major price hike. This hike could range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000. While Hyundai has yet to unveil the official launch timeline for the Exter facelift, speculation suggests we could see it on Indian roads by mid-2026.
