New Hyundai SUV

A test mule was recently spotted in South Korea, and many suspect it is the 4th-generation Hyundai Bayon. The test mule spotted a code – BC4i CUV, which is likely the codename for the Bayon. Earlier rumours had suggested that we would see the 3rd-gen Bayon, which was sold globally, in India. But with this test vehicle spotted, we could see the latest generation in India very soon. Here are all the details we know about the 2026 Hyundai Bayon.

New Fronx Rival – Details

From the spy shots, we can see that it has a SUV like stance. Despite the camouflage, we could spot the split headlight setup and slim LED DRLs. While the 3rd-gen Bayon looked like an i20 on stilts, this version has gotten a complete makeover. The outgoing Bayon is slightly more than 4m long, and to comply with the sub-4m tax bracket, Hyundai is expected to shorten it a bit.
The Bayon will share many components with its siblings, the Creta and Venue. Some features we expect include a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, a fully-digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, and an ADAS suite.

New Fronx Rival – Powertrain

The Hyundai Bayon is set to feature Hyundai’s all-new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. However, we are not sure whether this will be the only powertrain option available. Hyundai may decide to offer the 1.2-litre NA petrol on the lower variants. The Bayon is also expected to be offered with a CNG powertrain. As for the gearbox options, it will be offered with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed AT.

New Fronx Rival – Expected Pricing And Launch

The pricing will be kept competitive with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. We expect the pricing to range from Rs 9 Lakh to 13 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). This will keep it in a similiar price bracket as the Venue. It is still too early to determine where the Bayon will sit in Hyundai’s long SUV lineup. We could see the Bayon on Indian roads by late 2026. Hyundai has planned to launch up to 26 cars by 2030, and the Bayon will be one of them.
