Tata Punch HBX Edition Launched
Tata motors chose to launch the HBX Edition during the facelift launch itself. And you must be wondering what’s different with this new edition? The HBX Edition is a tribute to the HBX concept that was revealed 6 years ago. The recently launched HBX Edtion is designed as an off-road focused package for the micro-SUV. It is speculated that this edition is still meant for mild off-road and city use, over serious off-roading.

The technical specifications haven’t been revealed yet, but the HBX Edition retains the facelifted Punch’s silhoutte. In more realistic terms, the HBX Edition is just an accessorised version of the Punch Accomplished +S variant that makes the car look more rugged and bold.

So What’s Different?
On comparing the HBX Edition with the normal facelift version, we don’t see much difference in terms of mechanical changes. It seems to be all about design. Up front, the Punch HBX Edition carries a familiar upright stance of the standard Punch. You get faux hood scoops on the front bonnet that have been installed just for the aesthetics. The bumper, however, is a little different. It comes with visible tow hooks that instantly signal toughness. These elements don’t alter the performance, but they do add serious muscle to the visuals.

As you move to the sides, you instantly notice the blacked out 15-inch wheels with all-terrain tyres, silver cladding on the door sills, and contrasting elements on A and B pillars. You also get chunkier roofrails on this edition. At the rear, the HBX Edition gets a two-piece spoiler along with styling inserts beneath the connected tail lamp.
As you move into the cabin, you see no difference. Since the HBX Edition is based on the standard Punch Accomplished +S trim, it pretty much gets everything.

No Changes To The Powertrain
There haven’t been any official statements about the powertrain on this version, but since it carries some signifiant elements from the standard top variant, we expect to get all three powertrain options with both MT and AMT options. Tata has also been tight-lipped about the pricing, but considering the segment and the features, a premium of Rs. 40,000 can be estimated over the standard version.
