New Tata Punch Safety

During the launch of the all-new Punch, Tata revealed that the car scored a 5-star BNCAP crash rating. Well, we kind of expected that from Tata. Apart from the BNCAP crash test, Tata conducted an internal crash test in which the Punch was crashed head-on into a stationary truck at 64 km/h. So what was the outcome?
- Passenger cell was intact
- All doors unlocked & open post impact
- Fuel system was sealed
- Seatbelts secured & released
- Front airbags deployed
This safety achievement has been achieved through the use of high-strength materials and clever design to improve crashworthiness. Like using Ultra High Strength Steel for the A and B pillars and having an energy absorption zone and minimal deformation zone, which soaks up the impact of the accident while keeping the occupants safe.
