New Tata SUV Launch!
Tata Motors is all set to launch the updated Punch on 13 January 2026, marking the first major facelift of its popular micro-SUV since its debut. Post-facelift, the updated Tata Punch is expeced to receive a hike of Rs. 50,000 depending upon the varaint. The car will be available in six variants – Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Acomplished and Accomplished+.


With rivals like Hyundai Exter and Nissan Magnite constantly raising the bar, this facelift is Tata’s answer to keeping the Punch fresh, relevant, and future ready.

What to Expect?
Over the years Punch has carved out a strong position in the Indian market crossing over 1,73,502 sales in 2025 itself. Thanks to its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, rugged design, and competitive pricing, it has become a go to micro-SUV for the majority of the Indian audience out there. But the 2026 Punch is ought to bring substantial upgrades in design, interior technology, and safety equipments.


The overall design feels similar to its predecessor, but the facelift definitely brings some interesting updates this year. Talking about the exteriors, the SUV will feature a slimmer LED DRLs, a redesigned grille, new alloy wheels up to 16 inch, a sunroof and a reworked bumper that matches with Tata’s new design language. The rear receives a connected LED tail lamp, giving the SUV a more contemporary and trending look. Buyers will also get new colour options like Cyantafic (blue), Bengal Rouge (red), Caramel (yellow), Daytona Grey (grey), Pristine White, and Coorg Clouds (silver).


Inside, the cabin feels more modern and tech focused with new introduced tweeks. We will get to see a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will pair with a fully digital instrument cluster. The new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo adds a premium touch to the cabin. The car will get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and improved materials that will enhance the overall cabin experience. These new interior designs aim to make the Punch more tech equiped yet practical for families.


Safety continues to be a highlight for the Punch. All the variants will come with six airbags, along with Electronic Stability Program (ISP), Tyre Monitoring System (TPMS), and Electronic Stability Control. Higher trims may include 360-degree camera, push-button start, and cruise control.

Powertrain
The 2026 Tata Punch will finally pack a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged pterol engine. Yes you heard it right! It is the same engine that powers the Nexon and Altroz Racer. The ngine is capable of producing up to 118bhp and 170Nm of torque.
In addition, the Punch is likely to continue with the existing 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It produces 87bhp and 115Nm of torque paired with a 5-speed a manual or AMT. The CNG variant is also expetcted to return, delivering 72bhp and 103Nm of torque.
