New-Gen Bajaj Chetak Launch Date Confirmed!

One of the best-selling scooters in its segment is none other than the Bajaj Chetak. In the EV segment, the Chetak and the TVS iQube have been the top contenders, and the Bajaj e-scooter has done very well. And now, Bajaj has dropped a teaser hinting towards the launch of the new-gen Chetak on January 14. In the teaser, Bajaj has given us a glimpse of the new taillight design. There have been instances of the new-gen Chetak being tested, as seen in spy shots. Expected cosmetic changes include a new LED taillight and headlight, a tyre hugger, headlight cowl-mounted indicators and much more.

What To Expect?

We believe that the new Chetak will only get cosmetic changes along with a few features. Apart from that, the Chetak will likely continue to offer the same battery pack options: a 3kWh battery pack (127km range) and a 3.5kWh battery pack (153km range). Currently, the Bajaj Chetak is priced between Rs 1.09 Lakh and Rs 1.42 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We could expect an increase in price of around Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000, depending on the variant. With the new updates, Bajaj will aim to dominate the e-scooter market. The updates will also allow the Chetak to put up an even tougher fight against the current best-selling e-scooter, the TVS iQube.
