Kia has finally launched the new-gen Seltos in India. And without a doubt, it is one of the best versions of the Seltos. With the new-gen, the Seltos offers extra bits across the board compared to its sister SUV, the Creta. Now, for all the Creta lovers, this is the moment that will keep you excited for the next-gen Creta! Why? Well, every change that the Seltos has undergone is expected for the new-gen Creta. New Gen Hyundai Creta – New Features 

For starters, there will be other improvements across all the parameters of the Creta. But first, let’s talk about what features we can expect with its new-gen. So, the recently launched Seltos comes with features like a powered co-driver seat, 10-way powered driver seat, a head-up display, 12.3-inch touchscreen system, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, automated flush door handles, and memory ORVMs, among others.

With the new-gen Creta, we expect all of the mentioned features to be included in the SUV. Also, Hyundai may skip some features like the head-up display and instead add features that do not exist in the Seltos. This will be done to keep a differentiating factor between the two.

More Space Than Before

Compared to the current Creta, the new-gen Seltos is longer, has a longer wheelbase, and has a larger boot space. All these improvements were made possible due to the new K3 platform of the Seltos. Just for your reference, the old-gen Seltos & the current Creta are based on the brand’s K2 platform. So, with just a platform change, Kia has been able to offer more space than the Creta. Similarly, even the new-gen Creta is expected to be underpinned by the new K3 platform. This will help Hyundai enhance cabin space, making it more similar to the Seltos.

Additionally, the K3 platform is also expected to excel in terms of safety! The current Creta is not popular for its safety, as the previous gen had scored a 3-star rating. That said, Hyundai has assured time and again that it has strengthened its structure. However, we are yet to see a 5-star rating being officially associated with the Creta nameplate. This is expected to be changed with the K3 platform. In fact, we can soon expect a crash test of the Kia Seltos, which will likely clear all our doubts.

New Gen Hyundai Creta – New Engine

As the Seltos transitioned from old to new gen, we expected Kia to offer a new hybrid engine. However, that was not the case, at least at the time of the launch. For the new-gen Creta, it is said that Hyundai will offer a new Hybrid Engine, which will later also be available on the Seltos! So yes, it will likely be the Creta to first come with the brand’s new hybrid powertrain. Rest, we can expect it to carry similar engine options as the current model. However, the hybrid engine could possibly replace the current 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Launch & Price

Hyundai will take another year before launching the new-gen Creta in India! Yes, the brand is set to launch the model in 2027 – likely in January. Once launched, we can expect a price hike of up to Rs 1 lakh! Currently, the popular SUV is priced between Rs 12.77 lakh & Rs 24.50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
