With competitors clocking strong sales in the compact SUV segment, Renault is also planning to enter it. Renault will introduce the Kardian, which is Renault’s global product, first seen in 2023. Karidan is to be placed above the Kiger and Triber in Renault’s lineup.
Key Details:

Karidan will be based on Renault’s modular platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Duster. Kardian will be larger than the other products in the Renault lineup right now. Kardian will feature a new modern front grille, sharp headlamps and a C-shaped taillamp identical to the Kiger. The wheel arches and roof rails together give the Kardian an urban-SUV look.

Inside the cabin, Renault will equip the Kardian with the 8-inch infotainment system featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting and a 7-inch digital driver’s display. For the driver’s convenience, there are additional features such as a paddle shifter, a 360-degree parking camera, and ADAS.
Powertrain:

Powering the Kardian will be the new 1L turbo petrol engine, producing 125 HP and 220 Nm torque. This engine will be paired with the six-speed DCT transmission. Although the engine displacement and cylinder count are identical to those of the Kiger and Renaults, this new engine is expected to produce more power. This is possible because of the different engine tune.

Rivals:
The Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza are direct competitors of the Renault Kardian. There is also indirect competition from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which sells in huge numbers.
Expected Pricing And Launch Date:
Just like the other Renaults, Kardian will be priced aggressively, with the base variant starting around 8 lakh and the top variant going up to 15 lakh (on-road Mumbai). There is no official statement on the launch of the Kardian. But with the launch of the new Duster, Renault is looking forward towards the Indian Market. We can expect the Kardian launch in the upcoming years.
