How Much Will It Affect?

The Nexon has seen a significant increase in sales post-GST 2.0 reforms. However, what has also contributed to the overall sales of the SUV is its EV iteration. Yes, the Nexon.ev has been a silent contributor and an SUV that helped other automakers to dare & enter the EV segment. Eventually, one of the struggling automakers, MG Motor, also entered the segment with the Windsor EV! It was the third EV from MG, which became an instant hit, thanks to the spacious cabin experience at a rather affordable price segment. In fact, the entire brand is currently dependent on the sales of the Windsor EV alone. Today, the Windsor EV is priced between Rs 15.07 lakh & Rs 19.69 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). However, from the 1st of January 2026, MG will hike the price of the Windsor EV by up to 2%. That will make the MG EV expensive by up to Rs 37,000.

Wait Or Buy Today? – MG Windsor Price Hike

Increasing the prices of cars on the first day of a new year is not uncommon in India. And as you can see, the price hike is not a lot in the case of Windsor EV. So, what should a buyer do in such a situation? Well, if you want to save that extra amount, buy the Windsor EV in December 2025. But remember that it will affect the resale value of the car. After you decide to sell your car, say after 5 years, the manufacturing year 2025 will not give the same resale value as the manufacturing year 2026 – even though you purchase it in the first month of the new year. Also, it is not a significant price hike & you can bet your money on the fresh stock of 2026!
