New-Gen Tata Nexon – Will Be Worth Every Penny!

Tata Motors has planned to update the Nexon with some new features, and maybe a new powertrain too. The launch timeline is still in the cover, but there are few hints about when it will come and we will talk about it in the later half of this article. Now, let’s first take a look at what all new things will this updated Nexon have to offer – 

Firstly, Tata will try to play with the platform of this compact SUV. It is currently based on Tata’s X1 architecture, and the same will boast some structural updates. It is the same platform which underpinned the Tata Indica. 

Along with an updated platform, the new-gen SUV will boast several changes on the outside and inside in line with the new Tata models. However the details of the changes are currently scarce. But worry not, in the coming months we expect to get spotted images, which will clear out a lot of things!

Features:

Well, Tata Nexon is already loaded with several features! And this eventually makes it difficult to assume what extra can come. However, Tata can make things crazy if they offer the triple screen display, ADAS Level 2+, 12 Speaker JBL Black Sound System, AR HUD and other Sierra, but it still leaves a room of confusion. 

While Tata could offer the ADAS Level 2+, and even the extended thigh support; the inclusion of a triple screen looks unlikely to be on the list. But, we can expect a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen to be added, as the current one gets a 10.25-inch unit. 

Leaving the features behind, we can expect a revised interior layout. New design for the Dashboard, along with a new steering wheel and revised design for AC vents and proportionately, the rear seat passengers might also get the extended thigh support for a more comfortable ride.

Powertrain:

Under the hood, the new-gen Nexon is expected to retain the current 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. However it is yet to be figured out if the diesel will be continued or not! As the Nexon might even lose this engine to meet the upcoming BS7 emission norms. 

If this happens, Tata might even try to introduce a new hybrid powertrain on this model. But, it is just a speculation. Tata Motors have already suggested that they would bring a hybrid setup depending on the buyer’s need.

Launch & Price

Many of you were waiting for this right? Now as we have said, there’s no official timeline of launch of this updated Tata Nexon from the brands side. However, we expect to welcome this SUV by 2027. That might look far away for now, but the time would be worth waiting for. 

Talking about the pricing, with its new-generation update the Nexon’s price can be hiked by a fair margin. According to us, the new generation Nexon could cost up to Rs 1 lakh more than the current model, but the price increase will vary depending on the variants.
