New Creta Rival

In 2019, Kia launched the Seltos in India, and the SUV was an instant hit. However, over the years, the SUV lost its charm, and Kia witnessed a steep decline in terms of sales. To recover from the loss, the brand is now gearing up for the launch of the new-gen Seltos. Talking of which, the new-gen Seltos will make its global debut tomorrow – the 10th of December 2025! But we are not sure if the brand will announce the pricing for the new Seltos. That said, we can expect a hike of up to Rs 1 lakh over the current model! Sounds a lot? Well, the goodies the new Seltos is expected to offer may justify the additional amount.

New Design & New Features – New Kia Seltos Launch

Be it the exterior or the interior, the new-gen Seltos will have an all-new design language. On the outside, the spy shots & the teasers confirm the updated design. New elements include Sorento-inspired headlight setup, new front grille, new front & rear bumpers, new alloy wheels & new taillamps. Also, the SUV is expected to get taller, wider, and will likely have a longer wheelbase too. The brand is yet to tease the interior design of the new-gen Seltos. However, a recent spy shot gives us a glimpse of the overall layout. Talking of which, the Seltos interior can be seen with an entirely new dashboard layout. It also looks like Kia has updated the overall plastic quality & offered soft-touch materials. However, none of these can be confirmed until we see the car in the flesh. That said, some of the switch placements are similar to the already existing Kia Syros!

Thanks to the spy shot, we now have more info on the features the new-gen Seltos will get! The highlight of the interior spy shot was dual 12.3-inch displays. Both of these are present in the Syros. Other expected features include – rear ventilated seats, Auto Park, Harman Kardon sound system, and more.

New Engine & Gearbox

Kia Seltos is currently offered with three engine options – 1.5-litre NA petrol engine, a 1.5-litre TGDi engine & a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Among these, the diesel engine, which is currently equipped with a 6-speed AT gearbox, is expected to come with a new 7-speed AT gearbox. Additionally, sources suggest that Kia may likely debut a new hybrid engine with the new-gen Seltos.

So, does the expected hike of up to Rs 1 lakh justify the upcoming changes? Well, Kia may not even cross Rs 50,000 for a price hike, considering the recently launched Tata Sierra at an aggressive price!
