Powerful Than Your Favourite KTM!

The current lot of 250cc bikes, even the KTM produces around 31bhp – but the bike we are talking about can be considered its big daddy of many bikes from today’s age. This bike from the old 1990’s was powered with a 34bhp producing 125cc, two stroke engine that every rider wanted to tame.
Its faired design and the power figures made it every rider’s dream machine very quickly. The bike that we are talking about is the Aprilia RS4 125! The old one, which was raw, derestricted and a merciless engineering product. It was introduced in the international markets back in 1992, and till the 2012 Aprilia showed the world who’s the real boss!
After 2013, the smoky two-stroke unit was replaced by a much more sedate, but reliable, four-stroke engine, the RS4 125 had the looks, but lost the magical performance and characteristic soundtrack. From the merciless 34bhp producing mill, the new unit produced only the permitted 15bhp. Not as powerful as before, but still can cruise over the speed of 100kmph! And believe me that’s too much to think for a 125cc motorcycle.

Aprilia enjoyed good success with its RS 125 motorcycle. It came with fairings, enhancing its sportiness. The rider position was more on the aggressive side. You will need to lean in, but you will surely enjoy the curves. By 2006, the 125cc used to look like the Aprilia RSV 1000R superbike, which will make every other passer on the road take a look!

India Missed This!

Eventually, India missed having a taste of this powerful motorcycle. India being a cost-centric market, the Aprilia RS 125 used to come with an expensive price tag! Moreover, to introduce it in India, the Italian manufacturer would have needed to use the CBU route, which could have made it damn expensive, only to get neglected. But many claim that some enthusiasts have bought this bike via CBU route.
It was one beautiful motorcycle that we would have wanted to ride in this age! What do you think about it?
