Honda Civic Type-R Spotted

The Civic is one of the most popular Hondas in India, thanks to its unique and sporty design and great performance. However, for the first time in India, the Honda Civic Type-R has been spotted in undisguised form. The Type-R is an enthusiast favourite, not only in India, but all around the world. And the Civic Type-R has now arrived in India. The spotted car had temporary number plate stickers. The reason this is quite exciting is that Honda India recently revealed its plans to bring in 10 new cars in India.

Following this announcement, the Civic Type-R has been spotted here, hinting towards an official launch. However, it is also possible that this could be a customer car that has been imported into India. It will be interesting to see whether Honda actually launches the Civic Type-R in India through the CBU route. Nevertheless, we will finally be able to witness a Honda Civic Type-R on Indian roads. But what’s so special about this Civic?

Design

Well, this is the ultimate Civic and one of the best hot-hatches in the world. This particular is based on the 11th-gen Civic, but the design is something else. It is not too loud in its design, but it is subtly aggressive. With a white colour scheme, it gets an aggressive front bumper and a splitter, a bonnet vent, massive 19-inch wheels, a huge rear spoiler, and the Type-R iconic triple exhaust. It will surely turn heads, especially with its raspy exhaust note. The sportiness continues inside with a black and red interior.

The sports seats and floor carpets are upholstered in a red shade, adding to the sporty vibe. The dash design is quite simple, and everything is well laid out. You get a Type-R steering wheel with a red Honda logo and red stitching all around the cabin. The key highlight is the 6-speed manual gearbox, which gets a beautiful metallic gearknob. That said, this is one of the best-looking Hondas ever.

Features & Performance

The Honda Civic Type-R also gets a good deal of features, like a 12-speaker Bose sound system, Honda sensing ADAS, a 9-inch touchscreen, a fully digital driver display, an automatic climate control system, and the list goes on. In terms of performance-oriented features, the Civic Type-R gets adaptive dampers, Brembo 4-piston aluminium callipers, 4 drive modes, a lightweight single mass flywheel, and a helical LSD (limited slip differential).

Under the hood is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 319bhp and 420Nm of torque, along with a 6-speed MT. The Civic Type-R is quite fun to drive, and the manual transmission is tactile and adds to the driving experience, making it even more engaging.
