Upcoming SUVs In December – Finally Launching!

The first SUV that will be launched in December will be from the house of Maruti Suzuki. The Indian auto giant is all set to launch its first electric SUV, the e Vitara, on the 2nd of December. It will also be Maruti’s third rival to the Creta, after Grand Vitara & the Victoris. We have already experienced the SUV at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, and overall, the e Vitara does feel like any other Maruti product!

Having said that, it will be a feature-loaded SUV which will come with a Level 2 ADAS, 10.1-inch touchscreen system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, powered & ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, 7 Airbags, reclining rear seats & more!

In terms of battery specifications, the e Vitara is expected to get two battery pack options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The smaller 49 kWh battery model will come with an electric motor that produces 144bhp and 189Nm of torque. On the other hand, the larger battery will get a dual electric motor setup that produces 184bhp and 300Nm. However, to keep costs in check, Maruti will likely skip the dual-motor setup or the AWD variant for India.

Talking of which, we expect Maruti to launch the new e Vitara anywhere between Rs 18 lakh & Rs 23 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Most Exciting Launches!

The other two SUVs on the list are from the house of India’s favourite automaker – Tata Motors. At the Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motors revealed two in-house developed petrol engines – a 1.2-litre TGDi & a 1.5-litre TGDi. Since then, potential buyers have been waiting for the 1.5-litre TGDi to be offered with the Harrier & the Safari. And finally, the wait is over! After debuting the 1.5-ltire TGDi with the Sierra, the brand is now set to launch big SUVs with the petrol engine. Talking of which, both these SUVs will be launching on the 9th of December.

So, the talking point of these SUVs will be the engine. The 1.5-litre TGDi unit is said to produce 168bhp & 280Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are expected to be handled by a 6-speed manual & 6-speed automatic gearbox. Rest, the SUVs are expected to remain identical to the current models in terms of design & features.

Upcoming SUVs In December – New Spacious Creta Rival

And finally, it will be the most anticipated launch of the new-gen Kia Seltos! The upcoming spacious Creta rival is set to make its debut on the 10th of December. We have already seen multiple spy shots – revealing a few key details. The SUV appears to be a size bigger than the current model – assuring enhanced space. Rest, it will sport a new design language that is expected to be similar to bigger Kia SUVs like the Sorento. Also, new features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Auto Park, AR HUD, enhanced audio system, powered tailgate, rear ventilated seats and more are expected to be included.
