Bajaj EV Plans!

Bajaj is planning to update its entire model lineup, not just the Pulsar. Rakesh Sharma, the Executive Director at Bajaj Auto, has revealed that the brand is now working on an all-new electric motorcycle platform. Described as a “vigorous R&D push”, Bajaj will be designing and engineering the new platform in-house. This new platform will be utilised in commuter segment bikes and scooters, as well as high-performance motorcycles in the future. Bajaj’s expertise in the ICE motorcycle segment and learnings from the Chetak electric will be well utilised for the new electric two-wheeler lineups.

Even Royal Enfield, one of India’s favourite brands, recently showcased its first electric motorcycle, which was close to production-ready form. Bajaj aims to expand its Chetak portfolio and also work on three-wheeler EVs. It will be interesting to see how Bajaj’s move towards the electrification of motorcycles works out for the brand as well as its buyers.
