The 125cc KTMs were the most powerful, and eventually more overpriced bikes in its segment. In March, KTM bid a final goodbye to its entry-level bikes. Now, the reason for its discontinuation was said to be the low sales volume, this was majorly due to its pricing. The 125cc models were priced nearly Rs 2 lakh, which is certainly high for 125cc models.

Both the KTM models had a design, which was very different from the other commuter segment bikes, and it was looked upon majorly by college students who wanted a bike with good design and power but from the lower cc segment.

However, its place was later filled with launching the 160cc Duke, becoming the brand’s new entry level model.

Bajaj N150

The second model on the list is the Bajaj N150. It was discontinued despite Bajaj introducing newer models under its ‘N-series’. This bike was introduced as an option for buyers who wanted a better design and better power than the regular Pulsar 150, however, this same thought made Bajaj bid a goodbye to this bike.

The Bajaj N150, faced a stiff competition from its own siblings – the N160 and the regular Pulsar 150. The N160 offered more power, better features and dual channel ABS – while the other buyers moved towards the Pulsar 150. These things made the N150 to carve its unique identity, and was later delisted from the website in July, 2025.

Before its discontinuation, the Bajaj N150 was priced around Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Just a month before the discontinuation of Bajaj N150, Honda discontinued its one of the most affordable motorcycles – CD110 Dream. The CD110 was one of the Splendor competitions in the country, and the reason behind its discontinuation was said to be the sales dropping off.

The Honda CD110 Dream made its run for more than a decade. It was a popular motorcycle in rural India, being one of the most affordable Japanese motorcycles. It used to offer a 65-70kmpl of mileage along with a reliable engine, which was one of the best.

The last recorded price during the time of its discontinuation was Rs 76,000 (ex-showroom).

BMW G 310 R a street-naked motorcycle and the G 310 GS its adventure version, were delisted from the BMW Motorrad India’s website back in this year. Another shock came when the dealers said they haven’t received new shipments of the bikes since January 2025. Both the entry-level BMW bikes came with a hefty price tag, despite it being manufactured in partnership with TVS.

One thing that we would like to highlight about the BMW bikes was the suspension setup. Both the motorcycles were showing signs of ageing as they were on sale for nearly a decade. However, BMW has now filled the void by showcasing the F 450 GS, which is expected to be launched by January 2026.

The last recorded price for the BMW G 310 R was Rs 3.70 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom) for G 310 GS.

In this year, we also lost another capable 300cc bike – the Honda CB 300R. The CB 300R was not doing quite well in terms of sales, due to which Honda delisted the model silently from its website in November.

The CB 300R was one of the reliable motorcycles available in the country. Obviously, the majority of Japanese motorcycles are best in the reliability factor, but its design was a bit short, which made buyers think about it.

The CB 300R was launched back in 2019, as a CKD offering, and in 2020 it was discontinued. Then again this motorcycle made its comeback in 2022 with a lower price tag, and received some more a year after. The last recorded price of this motorcycle was Rs 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Platina 110

Here, there was a major twist, Bajaj didn’t discontinued the ABS version of the Platina 110. The 110 Platina’s regular drum variant is still on sale. Now, the ABS is one of the safety measures, which is needed in every bike, but it was still discontinued as the ABS version of this model due to lower sales.

Now, the Platina is an affordable commuter segment bike, its major duty is to go a distance from A to B. For that, the buyers try to keep the cost low, and the ABS version makes the buyer pay more price than the drum brake variants. This makes the buyer go for the regular drum variant at a lower price point.

The Bajaj CT 125X was a more rugged commuter motorcycle positioned above the CT 110X. The CT 125X was for someone who wanted the performance of a 125cc bike at the price of a 110cc bike. Along with the performance, it used to offer a good mileage being a daily commuter motorcycle.

Bajaj has listed that this bike was discontinued due to low sales numbers. This bike was compared to the other better performance centric 125cc motorcycle along with the Pulsar 125, which made it fall short in demand.

The Bajaj CT 125X carried a price tag of approximately Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom).

The Royal Enfield discontinued the Scram 411 back in January 2025. However, RE later filled the void with the Scram 440. The Scram 411 was based on the Himalayan 411, having the same engine and chassis.

Now, the Scram 440 takes the place, powered with a bigger engine producing more power. Eventually, RE made the Scram 440 price just Rs 2,000 more than the Scram 411 to plug its way in the country.

Back in August, Hero MotoCorp decided to pull out its most expensive motorcycle, Mavrick 440. The sole reason behind this being its sales, this motorcycle hardly hit triple digit sales units.

The Mavrick was one of the best motorcycles made by the brand, it had a punchy motor, better riding dynamics and good suspension setup. These qualities were not marketed by the brand, which made it lose in sales.

The Hero Mavrick had a last recorded price of Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
