Toyota SUV Spotted Testing!

The partnership with Maruti Suzuki has been quite effective for the Japanese automaker. Its 5-seater midsized SUV has seen the most success, even outselling its counterpart, the Grand Vitara, last month. And its test mule was spotted testing recently.
The test mule was camouflaged. But we can still spot the distinct stance, along with the headlights and taillights of the Hyryder. At first glance, the rear overhang appears longer than on the outgoing variant, suggesting a possible 7-seater configuration.

When the Victoris was first spotted testing, people considered it to be the 7-seater version of the Hyrdyer and the Grand Vitara, but they were proven wrong. But this time around, we are as certain as ever that it is the Toyota Hyryder facelift.
Unlike Maruti Suzuki, it is doubtful that Toyota sell two separate SUVs based on the same platform. So we could see the next-gen Hyryder adopt some features from the Victoris.

Toyota Hyryder Facelift – Features & Specifications

With the outgoing Hyryder, you get features like a 9-inch infotainment screen, a panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and more. And with the facelift, we expect it to get features from the Victoris, such as beige interiors, an ADAS suite and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
The engine options will be adopted from the outgoing model. It is expected to be offered with a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid and a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain. Gearbox options could include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed AT and an e-CVT (for strong hybrid engines). The spied test mule was seen with a rear axle, suggesting the facelift will offer an AWD option.
The bigger update could come for the CNG powertrain. Toyota could offer the Hyrdyer facelift with an underbody CNG system, like on the Victoris. With this new layout, the Hydryer CNG’s boot space would no longer be an issue.

Toyota Hyryder Facelift – Expected Pricing & Launch

At the moment, the Hyryder is priced at Rs. 13.27 lakh and Rs 24.51 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We could see a price hike of up to Rs 65,000 with the facelift, if Toyota offers it with an ADAS suite and a 7-seater option.
Toyota has kept the development of the Hyryder facelift under wraps, and no official details are known yet. But after looking at the recent success of the Victoris, Toyota could launch the Hyryder by mid- to late-2026.
