Upcoming Honda SUVs – Honda 0 Alpha

At the Auto Show, Honda announced that its 0 Alpha SUV will be making its way to India by 2027. The model will be positioned above the Elevate in the brand’s lineup. This BEV will share many elements from the Elevate SUV – also feature a new architecture and a software-ready design.
While the exact details about the model is not shared yet, we expect it to get a battery pack ranging between 55kWh and 75kWh (comparing its rivals Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV), with the bigger battery pack delivering an approximate range of 450+ km in real life.

Another SUV that will be making its way to our country is the 0 SUV. This SUV being based on Honda’s new design language, it will boast bigger dimensions than the 0 Alpha and Elevate SUV, and will be positioned like-wise.
This SUV will be home to several new tech features, and boast a big battery pack. While the details aren’t yet shared, the production model is expected to have around 500km of range and a battery pack capacity of up to 100kWh. Upcoming Honda SUVs – New Sub 4-Metre SUV

Honda has also announced plans to launch a new sub 4-metre SUV in the country. Possibly looking at the increasing demand of Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Brezza and Skoda Kylaq. At present, details of this compact SUV are scarce, however we expect it to be based on the Amaze sedan, sharing its underpinnings and powertrain details.
With that we expect the model to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine (88bhp & 110Nm) paired with a manual and CVT gearbox unit. According to us, the brand might not equip the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine on this model as it can increase the final cost of the product (GST 2.0 effect).
Honda might also offer an electric powertrain option to this SUV, after its launch in ICE version. There aren’t any solid details surfacing about the model yet, but soon we expect it to be shared by the brand.

Internationally, the ZR-V SUV boasts several features like an 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, 10.2-inch instrument cluster, wireless charger, dual zone AC, powered front seats, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bose premium sound system, ADAS and more. Powertrain-wise, it gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine capable of producing 176 bhp and 240 Nm of torque. And a 2.0-litre petrol engine and two electric motors and is capable of producing a combined output of 181 bhp and 315 Nm torque.

Power options are unclear, but we expect Honda to offer the 7-seater with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that powers the Elevate, along with a strong-hybrid option.
