Renault Duster

Renault will be reviving the “Duster” brand on March 17. The French automaker has already unveiled the Duster, but its pricing has yet to be revealed. Here are some key details that you should know about it.

With the Duster, you get features like a 10.1-inch infotainment system with built-in Google and a 10.25-inch driver display, an electric power tailgate, 6-way electric-adjustable and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a Level-2 ADAS system and much more.

At launch, the Duster will be offered with 2 engine options – a 1.0-litre petrol (99 bhp & 160 Nm) and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol (160 bhp & 280 Nm). Gearbox options would include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AT. But later this year, Renault will launch it with a 1.8-litre strong hybrid-petrol engine, mated to an 8-speed DHT gearbox.

Renault would need to price it aggressively to keep it competitive in the segment. We expect the Duster to cost between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Skoda Kushaq

Skoda is yet to announce a definitive date for the launch of the facelift, but we do know that it will be this month. It had already been unveiled, and the pricing and delivery details will be announced with its launch.

With this facelift, Skoda has refreshed the aesthetics, added some features and brought a change to the powertrain. The updated feature list includes a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, massaging rear seats, 6 airbags, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, etc. Unfortunately, it still misses out on ADAS and a 360-degree camera.

As for the engine options, the same 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI will be offered. The major change would come with the gearbox, where you would now get an 8-speed AT instead of the older 6-speed AT. Other transmission options include a 7-speed DSG and a 6-speed manual.

The outgoing model costs between Rs. 12.73 lakh and Rs 22.07 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Skoda would have to keep the price hike minimal (upto Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000) with the facelift to stay competitive in the market.

Nissan Tekton

The Tekton will be Nissan’s version of the Duster. While it may wear different clothes, underneath, it would be identical to the Duster. The launch date for the Tekton was set for last month, but Nissan has postponed it, and we expect that it will finally arrive in March 2026.

The Tekton will borrow a majority of the parts from the Duster. Some expected features include a panoramic sunroof, an ADAS suite, a powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, etc.

It will also adopt the Duster’s powertrain options. A 1.0-litre petrol (99bhp & 160Nm) and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol (160bhp & 280Nm), along with an option of a 6-speed AT and a 6-speed manual, are expected to be on offer. However, we do not yet know whether the Tekton will get a strong-hybrid powertrain.

The Nissan Tekton is expected to be priced similarly as the Duster at around Rs 13 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Audi SQ8

The RSQ8 and Q8 are already on sale in India, and Audi will launch another variant, the SQ8, on 17 March. The SQ8 will be the mid-variant for the Q8 range. Expectedly, it will sit between the two in the price range as well, at around Rs 2 Crore (on-road, Mumbai).

It will have all the features you get in an Rs 2 Crore car. These features include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, an ADAS suite, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, powered and ventilated front seats, matrix LED headlights, electric rear sunshades, and more. But more importantly, you will be greeted with high-quality and luxurious interiors every time you step inside.

The SQ8 will use a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, mated to Audi’s 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox. It will also get an AWD drivetrain as standard. The RSQ8 uses the same engine, but with a more powerful engine tune.
