5. Maruti Ertiga


The Ertiga always stays strong in this SUV-dominated market. The demand for a practical, affordable 7-seater never dies, especially for fleet vehicles. It made the list with 17,892 sales in January. Sales figures increased by more than 1,000 units from December 2025.
The feature list is pretty basic and includes 6 airbags as standard, a rear parking camera, electronically adjustable ORVMs, and cruise control. But its main USP is practicality, which accounts for the majority of sales. The Ertiga’s price range is Rs 10.30 lakh to Rs 15.33 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

4. Hyundai Creta


Here is the car that has dominated the midsize SUV segment for years. It finished 4th in sales last month, thanks to 17,921 units sold (EV and ICE combined). This is a 4767 unit improvement over December 2026.
What makes the Creta desirable is the feature list. The long list of features includes Level 2 ADAS, ventilated and powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and more. The Creta is priced between Rs 12.83 lakh & Rs 24.48 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the petrol/diesel variants, and between Rs 19.12 lakh & Rs 26.10 lakh for the electric variant.

3. Tata Punch


Tata recently updated the Punch, making it one of the most feature-rich cars in its segment. People appreciate its value for money. Thus, Tata sold 19,257 units last month, a record high for the Punch. Keep in mind, these figures include both electric and ICE versions.
With the facelift, Tata has given the Punch an extensive feature list of a 360-degree camera, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a 7-inch digital driver’s display and much more. The Tata Punch is priced between Rs 6.62 lakh and Rs 12.23 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

2. Maruti Suzuki Dzire


By now, you wouldn’t be surprised to see the Dzire on this list. In fact, it was India’s best-selling car in 2025. Its popularity as a fleet vehicle has boosted its sales significantly. It continued its strong performance into January 2026, selling 19,629 units.
The Dzire offers basic features such as a sunroof, cruise control, and wireless charging. But most of its customers buy it for its practicality and fuel-efficient Z-series engine, not for the feature list. As for the price, the Dzire is priced between Rs 7.37 Lakh and Rs 10.89 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

1. Tata Nexon


The Tata Nexon claimed the title of the best-selling car last month. It is one of the most feature-packed compact SUVs in the market. It offers great safety, features, and powertrain options, which is why it is so popular. Tata sold 23,365 units last month, making it the only car to cross the 20,000-unit mark. Moreover, it crossed an important milestone – 10 lakh cumulative sales.
Its feature list includes a 10.25-inch driver’s display and ventilated front seats. an air purifier, a 360-degree parking camera, an ADAS suite and much more. The Nexon pricing range starts at Rs 9.21 Lakh, and goes up to Rs 17.06 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
