5 Adventure Bikes That Should/Must Launch in India

These are some of the finest adventure bikes that we would like to see on the Indian roads, one day

The adventure bike segment in India is selling hot cakes from the last few years due to several popular models such as Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Hero Xpulse 210 and KTM 390 Adventure among many others. However, despite these motorcycles, this segment has enormous potential to grow further and there are a few ADV bike on sale in global markets, which could prove to be a gamechanger if launched in India. Hence, in this piece, we will talk in detail about the 5 adventure bikes that should/must launch in India.

BSA Thunderbolt

Unveiled at the EICMA 2025 in Italy, it is the first-ever adventure bike from BSA. The Thunderbolt is likely to launch in the Indian market by mid 2026, but nothing is confirmed yet. The original ‘Thunderbolt’ was quite popular in the 1960s and early 70s and hence, the company has revived this nameplate for its adventure motorcycle. Some of the design highlights include adjustable front windscreen, reinforced bash plate, wide handlebars, upswept exhaust and knuckle guards.

BSA Thunderbolt comes loaded with an array of modern features in the form of traction control, three ABS modes (Rain, Road & Off-Road), USB charging slot, digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. At the heart, it has the same 334cc single cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which generates top power of 28.8 bhp and peak torque of 29.6 Nm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox and slip and assist clutch.

Ducati DesertX V2

Ducati DesertX V2 had its world premiere at the EICMA 2025 in a camouflaged livery while announcing that all the other details including design, features and colour options will be out in Feb 2026. It is lighter, slimmer and more compact than the ongoing model. Tipping the weighing scale at 206 kg, it gets progressive linkage for the rear shock absorber.

The adventure bike shares the 890cc V-Twin engine with the Multistrada V2 and Multistrada V2 S, which produces max power of 110 bhp at 9000 rpm and peak torque of 92 Nm at 7000 rpm. Earlier this year, Ducati India stated that it will launch 12 new models in the Indian market in 2026 and sadly the DesertX V2 didn’t find any mention in it. However, we are hopeful that the Italian brand will introduce this capable ADV motorcycle at some stage in India.
