The Brezza needs no introduction. It has been one of India’s best-selling compact SUVs for years, trusted by families. And now, spy shots suggest the Brezza facelift is coming with new, reprofiled LED headlights and tail lamps, updated bumpers, and new alloy wheel designs.

This is where things get interesting. The upcoming facelift is expected to feature a larger infotainment screen, ventilated front seats, and a possible Level 2 ADAS suite, a first for the Brezza. Features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control could also be seen with the update. The facelift is also expected to include a CNG variant with an underbody tank, freeing up significant boot space.

The biggest mechanical news is that the Brezza facelift could receive a new 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 98.69 bhp and 147Nm torque, the same unit that powers the Fronx, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Rumours suggest Maruti could also introduce a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol with the Brezza facelift, which will eventually trickle down into other Marutis. The tried-and-tested 1.5-litre petrol, producing 101 bhp and 136 nm of torque, and CNG options are expected to carry over as well.

The Brezza facelift is expected to launch in early to mid-2026, with the model already in testing stages as of early this year and expected to be priced between ₹9.50 lakh and ₹15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

2. Maruti Fronx Hybrid

The Fronx is already a head-turner. With its crossover SUV stance and sporty design, it carved out a unique space for itself in the Maruti lineup when it first launched. But now, Maruti might make things even more interesting by adding a proper hybrid powertrain. The Fronx Hybrid is expected to closely resemble the current model, retaining its sharp LED headlamps and dual-tone alloy wheels, but gaining new hybrid badging to distinguish it.

Inside, expect a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, automatic climate control, and a premium interior finish. Rear AC vents and connected car technology are also likely to improve passenger comfort on longer drives. Some variants may also include Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.

The expected system pairs a 1.2-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, allowing the engine to function as a generator in certain situations. This setup supports silent electric starts, improved acceleration, and regenerative braking that recovers energy as the car slows, so you can even experience electric-only operation at low speeds in city traffic.  The result? Claimed efficiency of over 35 kmpl. which would be genuinely impressive for a crossover SUV.

The Fronx Hybrid is expected to be launched in late 2026. The hybrid version is expected to be priced between ₹8 lakh and ₹15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), roughly Rs 2 lakh more than the standard petrol variant.

3. Maruti YMC – Upcoming Maruti Cars

Maruti has never made a proper electric MPV before. But that is about to change. The YMC, currently known only by its codename, is shaping up to be one of the most important cars Maruti has ever built, not just for the company, but for Indian families who want to go electric without compromising on space.

Maruti Suzuki is developing the YMC as a 7-seater electric MPV, built on the HEARTECT-e skateboard platform, the same architecture that underpins the e Vitara. The design is expected to feature an upright, boxy stance with rectangular headlamps, a blacked-out grille with chrome accents, and a practical, family-friendly body shape. Expected features include a dual-screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation, a sunroof, wireless charging, ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS, and a 360-degree camera. The EV is likely to share interior components and technology features with the Fronx and Baleno, keeping the cabin familiar and user-friendly for existing Maruti customers.

Reports suggest the YMC will be available with two battery pack options, 49 kWh and 61 kWh, both paired with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The smaller battery is claimed to deliver up to 440 km, while the larger one could offer an impressive 543 km on a single charge. While an earlier September 2026 launch was planned, Maruti’s experience with e-Vitara production delays suggests the YMC could be pushed to late 2026 or early 2027. YMC could be priced between ₹18 lakh and ₹26 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), making it a serious rival to the Kia Carens Clavis EV and potentially one of the most affordable 7-seater electric MPVs in the country.
