New Ford Endeavour Driven – What’s So Special

Ford is currently selling the Endeavour, named as Everest globally with 2 engine options – a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine and 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine. This time we got a chance to drive the powerful 3.0-litre V6 SUV and the experience was enthralling. Here are the key takeouts –
– Firstly, you can feel the acceleration, it pulls very cleanly. So if someone craves performance, it will be a best suited option for you. The new SUV feels fun-to-drive compared to its earlier versions.
– The drive feels more premium, thanks to the more refined engine with better power and absolutely no engine noise compared to the Fortuner,
– Despite both the Fortuner and Everest being built on ladder-on-frame, the Everest offers a better ride quality, the suspension performs better and you won’t feel any pothole or broken patches. Overall, it feels convenient to drive and far better than the Fortuner!
– By far, Ford has done some major improvements with this SUV, and surely it will feel nice to drive if it comes to India.
– Even though the model feels powerful, and better than the Fortuner, it still lacks the Fortuner’s punch. But whenever Ford brings this SUV to India, it will put the Fortuner in trouble.

More About The SUV

As said, the Ford Everest in the global markets comes equipped with a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine (207bhp & 500Nm) & a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine (245bhp & 600Nm) paired with a 10-speed AT gearbox. However, if Ford ever plans to launch this model in India then expect it to come with the 2.0-litre bi-turbo engine mated to a 10-speed AT gearbox unit.
Features on the model includes 12.0-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, 8-speaker Sound System, 12.0-inch Touchscreen System, Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Dual-zone Automatic, Climate Control, 8-way Power Adjustable Front Seats, Heated & Ventilated Front Seats, Panoramic Sunroof, Powered Tailgate, 7-airbags, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera and more in its package.
With a better engine and a better list of features – the new Ford Everest can easily kill the monopoly of Toyota Fortuner in India.

Launch & Pricing

Recently, Ford has announced that it will revive its plant in the country. However, Ford has just planned to use this plant for manufacturing powertrains for exports. The brand is currently tight-lipped on discussing anything about launching the Ford Endeavour or Everest in India.
But we expect, with the increasing demand Ford might plan to bring this SUV as an CBU import. Now, if Ford really works on this, it will be interesting to see how the Ford Everest performs against the mighty Toyota Fortuner!
