20+ New Models Launch by 2026 End

Yamaha has chalked out a detailed product launch plan for India which includes premium scooters, motorcycles and electric vehicles by 2026 end

Yamaha India recently launched the XSR155 and FZ-Rave Edition in the Indian market. The Japanese two-wheeler brand also showcased two electric scooters at the event in the form of the Aerox Electric and EC 06. The company also revealed that it will introduce 10 all-new models in India, including EVs, by the end of 2026. In addition, Yamaha also announced plans to launch 20+ facelift models of its existing two-wheeler range by the end of next year in the domestic market. Let’s talk about the brand’s ambitious product launch plan in detail.

The top brass at Yamaha is expecting a growth of 10 percent in the domestic sales this financial year due to the recent cut in GST rates on two-wheelers with engine capacity below 350cc. “We expect the Indian two-wheeler market to continue growing, especially as the middle-income class expands,” said Itaru Otani, Senior Executive Officer, Motor Co Ltd and Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group.

“India is central to Yamaha’s global growth strategy,” Otani said while adding that Yamaha will focus on premium motorcycles and scooters in the Indian market. The company will start this launching spree with the EC 06 and Aerox electric scooters, which are likely to go on sale in the first quarter of 2026. Sources tell us that initially both the e-scooters will be launched in four metro cities in India.

Yamaha Aerox-E

Otani stated that electric two-wheeler demand has slowed down a bit due to the withdrawal of subsidy by the government and recent supply chain challenges. Although he stressed on the fact that Yamaha would take a “step-by-step approach” for building a sustainable EV business in India. While the EC 06 will be positioned in the premium scooter segment against Ola S1 Pro+ and Ather 450 Apex, the Aerox E will be a high-performance electric scooter with no direct rival.

Otani did not reveal the rest of the new models to be launched in the Indian market. In fact, the launch timeline of the facelifted versions of the existing scooters and motorcycles is also not confirmed yet by the brand. However, we can expect the Fascino 125 Fi and RayZR 125 Fi to be the first company models to get an update in terms of styling, colours and features as they have been around for quite a few years without any substantial makeover.

Yamaha Product Launch Plan for India 2025-26

Yamaha could also launch the updated versions of the MT-03 and R3 in the Indian market next year. It could also bring the NMax 155 maxi-scooter to our country as it has been showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The WR155 adventure motorcycle could also make its debut in India to take on the Hero Xpulse as it has already been spied undisguised in the country.
