It is the last day of 2025, and what a year we had! It started with the Bharat Mobility Show and ended with hot launches like the Sierra & the XEV 9S. But the things don’t end here. As we begin the new year, two hot launches are already scheduled in the first week of January 2026! Which are they? Let’s have a look.

Kia Seltos

The year 2026 is all set to begin with the launch of one of the oldest Creta rivals. Debuted in India in 2019, the Kia Seltos took the Indian auto industry by storm. The SUV then received a mid-life facelift in 2023, but till then, the sales had declined. To recreate its presence, Kia has now unveiled the new-gen Seltos. And on the 2nd of January 2026, the brand will announce the pricing. Talking of which, we expect it to receive a hike of up to Rs 75,000. Currently, the SUV is priced between Rs 12.82 lakh & Rs 23.76 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Although the prices will be announced on the 2nd of January 2026, Kia has already shared every detail of the Seltos. For starters, it gets a new design for exterior & interior, gets new features, and is longer & more spacious than before, thanks to the new platform. The new Seltos gets a more aggressive design, with the front profile inspired by larger Kia SUVs. Also, it is longer than before and has a longer wheelbase. The interior sports a new dashboard design and gets new features like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen system, 8-speaker Bose sound system and more. On the other hand, the engine options remain unchanged. 

Mahindra XUV 7XO – Upcoming SUVs In January

After the launch of the new Kia Seltos, buyers will then be excited to welcome India’s favourite 7-seater SUV in a new avatar. On the 5th of January 2026, Mahindra will be launching the XUV700 facelift. And yes, similar to what Mahindra did with the XUV300 facelift, the XUV700 will also receive a new nomenclature and will be called the XUV 7XO! Pricing-wise, we expect the XUV 7XO to be priced up to Rs 1 lakh higher than the current model. As of now, the XUV700 is priced between Rs 16.50 lakh & Rs 30.65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

With a facelift, the XUV 7XO will receive a major design overhaul. The official teasers and spy shots have already confirmed that many exterior design details will be shared with the recently launched XEV 9S. The front will sport a new headlamp design & front grille, and it will likely not have the connected treatment. Even for the interior, we can see a lot of similarity between the new model & the XEV 9S. This includes a triple screen layout, slightly redesigned dashboard layout, new centre console, new seat upholstery, and a lot more! Having said that, the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine & a 2.2-litre diesel engine will remain unchanged with the facelift.
